But since I started encoding videos, I have never been satisfied by any deinterlacer ! I tried Yadif... Kernel... Smart deinterlacer of Donald Graft...Smooth deinterlacer of Gunnar Thalin... TomsMoComp... Blending of VirtualDub... No one of them has fully satisfied me. Basically, MSU fields shift fixer is not for deinterlacing but why on the website of MSU, and on the first post of this thread,, we can see some screenshots deinterlaced by this filter ?

| | ALL MSU DOES is shift the frames back and forth between frames to line them up. If the video is 25fps in a 50i container it will work, if it's 29.97fps in a 59.94i container it will work. It won't work on real interlaced video. The samples on their website were videos that were transferred from such kinds of sources where the fields were off sync, causing everyone not to match up. Basically, with the case of the Xbox and say... Halo2. It's always 480p, but when done over composite, Svideo, or component(Assuming it's not set to 480p), it will convert then to a 480i container, if the xbox lags only alittle bit it will shift each pair of fields out of sync, this makes it look interlaced.

Posts: 9 | I found a way to actually open my .avi files now by rendering in "Uncompressed Frames" w/ Studio. But then i come across more issues. First of all it doesnt seem to deinterlace wut o ever, and when i remake the vid to a new .avi it completes but when i open the file the color of the video is negative. *although when in Virtual Dub the colors are normal*

| | So I know this is like a huge bump. But I used to use this method all the time, I loved it. Now when I go to open up Script.avs in vdub, I get this error "AVI Import Filter error: (Unknown)(80040154)". Anyone know what that particular error is? And how to fix it? Or a 3rd option, a better method? Using ATI 650.
