You have got to be kidding me if you think the bold is fair. A competition to see what video was the most liked by a group is moronic, we don't need cash prizes for that, we can just ask people what their favorite video was. Who deserves the prizes, and who deserves the number 1 spot should go to the video that is the best, and not the one that is most liked.

Also, we have judges choosing the best videos...they're on the front page, I'll list them for you: Midpoint, Urlacher, Muddawg, Low strife, and Crest...they pick out the best videos with the competition logo, and then the community is supposed to make educated votes on who they believe deserves to advance to the next round/heat and ultimately take the 1-3 spots. Notice the name of the competition is "Halo3forum's Halo 3 MOVIE competition" and not MONTAGE, it is supposed to be a serious competition with artistic, and professional looking videos.

I see your point, I really do. I understand about the video being more of a movie than a montage, having a theme, and style, and when I think about it that way, then yes, kampy's does not compete with videos like dualtality or snipers united, but I have more fun watching Kampy's, the gameplay is sicker, it makes me want to play halo, and the music is fun and uplifting.

When it comes down to it, I can see this being similar to the last montage contest. Although, yes this is a "movie competition" that doesnt mean the community will vote differently. The top 5 of the last contest consisted of - 2 Seriously edited videos, 2 videos more on the fun side, and then the finale...idk what youd classify that as...its kinda in the middle of the spectrum, at least for its time.

And besides, the gameplay is a big part of these videos, and In my opinion, the gameplay is Kampy's tops anything else in this contest.

Overall - I dont know...you tell me

Kampy also makes me want to play Halo. I know this seems pretty gay but when i play any playlist i have to listen to Kampy's montages. IMO it always helps me out pulling off sick sh.t. In conclusion, Kampy is THE BEST
montage maker there is.

frag we talked abut this a il bit but i just watchd dualtality again and your angles do get in the way of the actual gameplay.

its kinda annoying actually, i wanna see the clip sometimes.

for the feel of the video, and inspiring, FIN does an amazingjob the whole way u edited it, but seriously you cannot deny kampys gives people unleaded premium gameplay.

You cant tell people how to vote and im guessing alot of people are going to vote based on gameplay or the feel of the video, in this case, fun/uplifting vs serious/inspiring.

This debate will never end ptw, have you looked at it in a different perspective? perhaps if you cared more for GP than editing...

I def. respect what you say Phurion. Dualtality was an entertaining montage. But if I vote, I personally enjoy the flat out RAWTASTIC gameplay. And Kampy def. got that on LOCKDOWN

Woah, when did I claim this publicly? I never told people who to vote for. I liked his video it's amazing... the only thing that makes me a little upset is when people try to seay Kampy's game play is way better than the MLG game play in Dualtality... it's impossible to compare the 2, even Kampy himself said that. Comparing the 2 just doesn't work. What one could do is say "Kampy's has the best social game play in Halo 3 montages (I think this is unarguable)". The same person could also say "Dualtality does not have the best MLG game play in Halo 3 (Str8 Tage beat me and stick for sure)". But to directly compare 1 to the other... it simply does not work.

As for Dualtality, when do you think the angles made the clip look worse? I can only think of 1 part and it was simply because the angle I got was so appealing I personally decided to show the angle of the body dropping than the kill itself... this was only one clip tho. The rest I very carefully made sure made the clip looked better than it originally did... I can assure u anything you THINK was sacrificed due to an angle really was not... maybe you are simply assuming every time there is an angle you are missing out on sick stuff. I made sure when I used an angle I was not getting in the way of any clutch part of the actual frags, or anything that would look better in first person. Can you give some examples of parts you think my editing took away from the game play? Might be best to post this in the appropriate thread and keep this thread on topic... the competition as a whole.

I do really like and respect that MLG gameplay tho Frag. U and Stick did that Tage tha right way. Like you said tho Kampy is tha social multi-kill king. Tha gameplay in Dualtality was skilled and intense, same goes for Apex. But they are both from opposite sides of tha montage world. All of yall jus keep up tha good work
