my thaught on halo 3

OK.... i have almost 1 hours worth or footage that im in the middle of putting together for release on youtube broken down into six 8 minute parts

LET ME SAY HERE.. IM NOT COMPAREING THE GAME CALL OF DUTY 3 TO HALO......IM COMPAREING HOW THE GAME ENGINES WORK!!!

1st of all id like to say that i have 20mb broadband so that eliminates the problem lieing within my internet connection....basicly my video is about the problems that halo 3 has regaurding latency and host traffic advantage..... im sure all of us have hit a guy in the head with a sniper bullet before and seen that it has done him no harm or hit him anywere else with a sniper bullet and seen the same result.... or even meleed a guy whom clearly has no sheild the list goes on and on forever......question is what will bungie do about it.... the answer is NOTHING AT ALL unless we stress this issue enough.... the problem is NOT a connection issue as such there are things that can be done about it buy "FIXING" the .xbe / game engine ( WICH IS UPDATEABLE )

first of all lest take another game for an example.....call of duty 3 is a good one with 24 player matches ZERO issues of this kind are present..... lag / latency / and plain old rip off deaths..... i have took into account that most weapons are one hit kills on this game but if you hit your opponent thay WILL die this is NOT the case in halo 3 with some of the one hit kill weapons.

by playing a game you get a feel of what goes on behind what you see on screen and i think with common sense in mind many will agree with me on that

OK.... lets start

it is logical to think that in call of duty 3 the reason for ZERO / LAG / LATENCY / AND RIP OFF KILLS is that the game engine does not allow it..... you seem to be your own host in every single game you play the individual bullet count / kill is registerd on your xbox wich is then sent as a hit / kill to the host xbox wich is then sent to the guy who you have just shot / killed resulting in a death for him....... THIS IS WHY WHEN YOU SHOOT A PLAYER ON THAT GAME AND HE SHOOTS YOU AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BOTH DIE.......to put it even more indepth and to see it more clearly everything backs this up..... the more you familurise with this game the more sense it makes.....even down to the player movement / location if a player is where he is on your screen that is where he is in reality to ensure a fair chance for everyone...then the halo engine unlike the call of duty 3 engine IT DOES NOT MATTER WHERE THE PLAYER IS ON YOUR SCREEN BUT WHERE THE HOSTS XBOX SAYS HE IS... THIS NOT ONLY BEING RELEVANT TO THE OTHER PLAYER BUT ALSO TO YOU ASWELL....you may not be where you think you are........ ever said hey how did i die id just gone around the corner away from that guys line of fire and still fell down dead when i thought i was safe only to find that you fall down dead a fraction of a second later.... every little detail backs up what im saying here if you are clever enough to see the bigger picture.

to put it simply.... if the bullet count / kill / player location was done on the players xbox and sent over as one packet to the hosts xbox rather than one packet for each and everythig / bullets / player location it would use way less bandwith there for createing less chance of any lag or even eliminateing it totally.

take standbying for instance it all adds up... when the host is standbying he is cutting off the traffic allowing your bullet count info to his xbox that is why when you shoot sumone is dosent effect them...that is also why the player seems to be walking into a wall "hence" player location info not being deliverd... if this was done on your xbox then sent to the host xbox "untill its deliverd" when the host comes out of standby it will register your kill rendering his standby button useless.

I COULD GO ON FOREVER ABOUT THIS ISSUE IT HAS SO MANY VALID POINTS BUT IT ALSO HAS A SOLUTION ( FIX THE .XBE BUNGIE ) WE ALL KNOW ITS UPDATEABLE.

The physics definitely need to be patched up. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten beat downed,my body starts falling,then all of the sudden it reappears back at the spot where I died...Then it flops around like a fish out of water.

When you commit suicide, actually have it take away a point.... I've had it happen about 3 times in double team where we're down by one with 1 or 2 mins left, and the people just commit suicide and we can't find them. It's really annoying.

I'd also like to see that when you beat someone down before they do, it actually counts(read the person above me's post if you don't get what I mean).

What's been bothering more than anything else is the fact the game doesn't do a very good job at alerting you when you're taking on damage.

needler damage is a bit excessive, but can be dealt with if you know how.. most of the weapons are balanced now, in halo 2 you could use the plasma pistol and BR (or nub combo) and win every time... is there a scenario in halo 3 that there isn't a counter for..

i will say that in forge its annoying that the vehicle you are driving can be taken from you, that and for infection games instead of having som1 infected being a different colour... make them look like they have been attacked by the flood.
Nothing much else to say the game is quite well made compared to other FPS's on the 360

Beatdowns are like fkn Sumo wrestlers, sitting on babies, way to powerful, lower the beat down damage & more gernade damage XD

Like the OP said, increased 'nade damage.
And elimination of weapon glitches, if possible.

Fix the registration with the sniper rifle. I headshot someone on Narrows for the overkill, except he was still standing...i was really upset about that.
