The sponsor provides no where near enough money to buy even part of a setup. Keep in mind that even if we got 1 more station (which would only cut down the time by ~ 3 hours or so) it would be 4 TVs at $350 each, 4 Xbox 360s with HDDs, 4 copys of Halo, ethernet cables, another switch, another extension cord and power strip, another table, 8 more chairs, and more room.

It's pricy as hell. In my opinion, it's worth it... but with the economy the way it is, I'm lucky that I even managed to convince the owner to buy the full set of 8. I'm going to talk to the owner about the possibility of getting 4 more, and if not, I may even spend my own money on them and I could work out some sort of deal with them.

Instead of getting more setups, we could have tournaments more frequently. If we had one once every 4-5 weeks as opposed to 7-8 we could probably cut down on the number of teams a bit. We don't want to "limit" anything to 16 team passes or something like that, because we want as big of a turnout as we can. If we had more frequent tournaments, less players would go to each (players without teams would just say "forget it, I'll wait for the next one 4 weeks from now when I actually have a decent team"). Prizes would be a bit less, the turnout would be a bit smaller, but we could have them more frequently and ending closer to 11-12 rather than 3.

Blinky, I like your idea of having them more frequently.

i think the investment of 4 more viewsonics and everything else to go with it is worthwhile. i mean i left at 2am and the finals didnt even begin. i think if we can all pitch in a little (maybe increase the entry to $30 a person) and take the extra money and put it towards viewsonics.

20 teams with 4 people, each paying an extra $5 equals an extra $400. we can do that for the next 2 or 3 tourneys and put it towards getting another station

If people think this is a good idea I can bring it up to Jamie and Dave. $5 a person isn't much and it would definitely help but I'm not sure everyone is willing.

one a month is good. dont make it any more. but all u need to do is get more viewsonics( yes i would pay an extra 5 ) and id bring an xbox as well. im sick of staying till 3 cause sleep = good. if not its a good thing your sponsored by xs energy drinks cause thats the only way we can stay awake.

We can't have people bring their own equipment. It's unprofessional, people end up showing up late and delaying the tournament while we wait, and then people get knocked out and want to go home with their equipment rather than stay the duration of the tournament.

I'll see about the extra $5 thing. It's a great idea assuming everyone is willing to help.
