Frequently Asked Questions Q: How many teams are you expecting? A: You can always ask in this thread for an update of pre-registered teams. I can't predict how many teams there will be for GoW2 considering the game will have just come out. For Halo 3 4v4 tournaments, we had 10 teams at our May tournament, 16 teams at our July tournament, 12 at our August tournament, and 20 at our October tournament. Unfortunately, there are no guaranteed prizes -- it completely depends no how many teams attend. Q: How long will the tournament last? A: We try to run our tournaments in the most time-efficient way possible; however, with only 8 TVs, double-elimination and a minimum of best of 3 maps, you can hopefully understand why this may prove to be difficult. Our Halo 3 tournaments last the ENTIRE day, sometimes ending as late as midnight or even later. Unless you're expecting to get knocked out first round, try to plan ahead for a full day of gaming! Q: What type of parental supervision is there? A: Although we have never had any problems with this in the past, we are unable to keep track of every single minor that attends our tournaments with 60+ people all walking around and coming in and out. Q: What can we do while we wait? A: We MAY have a TV setup with a game for people to play depending on how busy we are. There's a McDonalds, Chinese restaurant, and a Quiznos all right next to us. For parents, there is a mall and movie theater about 10 minutes away on Route 9. Unfortunately, you may find yourself waiting to play for long periods of time during the early rounds until some of the teams are knocked out (literally hours between matches). Again, we will try to speed things up as fast as possible. Q: Can we talk trash and start fights during your tournament? A: Although some trash talk while you are playing is unavoidable, any problems outside of a Halo match will be dealt with accordingly. Keep in mind that Technicals will be given out (warning + loss of host for your next map) for excessive taunting during a match. Vulgarity directed towards any individual in the store will result in an automatic Technical. Please act like adults or you will be asked to leave. Q: What if I have a question that is not listed above? A: Feel free to post here. The more bumps this thread gets, the more players will see the tournament!

Posts: 446 | Date changes... 2v2 changed to Dec 13th and 4v4 changed to Dec 20th. Hopefully there won't be any scheduling conflicts with it so close to Christmas, but we have too many other events -- it's either these days or nothing til mid January.

Posts: 446 | People at the last tournament were talking about how they found out about it via the MLG forums. Some people even said there was a section for local tournaments... but from what I can tell, there's no such section and posting of local tournaments gets you banned. Any ideas for how to post over there or get permission to link to this thread?
