This is how melees work in Halo 3. Who ever has the most health at close range will win the melee fight no matter what.

Example

I have no shields and the person I'm trying to kill has a 1/4542354235324532354 of shields left. He will win. Even if he Melee's 2 seconds later he will kill you. Your beatdown can not hurt him at close range if he melee's with in 2 seconds.

Congratulation Bungie on making up the gayest system ever. Thank you for making Claw almost useless. Thank you for taking out reaction time and judjing weather or not you are within range to beat him down. Thank you bungie.

I never win melee fights.

And AR's kill me cross map when I have a BR.

Bungie didn't say this exactly, they said that if both players hit at the same time the player with the most health will win, not every single time.

This hasn't really happened to me, so....

Since it is almost impossible to hit at the same time. That Statement by bungie has proven what I said. It may not be 2 seconds but even if he hits me .5 seconds later and wins. Its a HUGE flaw with this game. And needs to be fixed.

I know im going to be flamed for this but... Play any hammers game and you will see how retarded this system is.

I have noticed some weird sh.t happen with melees, but it's just like H2 where it might suck for a while.

I hope it's something Bungie can fix and not something that they can't.

That flaw isn't any worse than their database chosing players based on skill and not their kill/death ratio. Would make for much more even games, instead of having guys in a game that don't belong there...good or bad.

But I agree, I don't know how many times this melee crap has happened to me and I've lost.

I sometimes wonder why I honestly play this game. So many illogical gameplay aspects.

I was playing a match earlier today and I blocked a guys sword attack with my AR, because right when he swung I melee'd and we both clashed. Then he swung again and a died lol. But I didn't know that was possible.

It seems like the only logical system to use though, there was a lot of "WTF" moments in the Halo 2 system of beatdowns. So I guess Bungie used the next option, can't make everyone happy.
