| Microsoft NEEDS to re-upload the Halo 2 Map Packs onto the Xbox Live Marketplace | ||||||||

| | Like many other users I was deeply saddened when I learned that Microsoft would be pulling the Xbox LIVE support for the original Xbox titles. Halo 2 was of course included in this abandonment. Unfortunately if you're like me when you signed onto Halo 2, you were required to update the game. This then caused the DLC to become corrupted for some unexplained reason. It asks you to re-download the maps but unfortunately Microsoft had taken down the map packs from the in-game content download menu, leaving many users inaccessible to play the Matchmaking system on Halo 2. At this point I only see two possible solutions. 1. Microsoft re-uploads the Halo 2 map packs onto the Xbox Live Marketplace. It makes no sense that content that many users paid for should become inaccessible OFFLINE after April 15th. When you purchase the rights to play the DLC for Halo 2, you should expect to be able to continue using the DLC even after online support is disabled for LANs and split screen games. 2. If Microsoft won't simply re-upload those maps onto the Xbox Live Marketplace, the only other option would have to rely on Bungie removing the requirements on the Matchmaking playlists to have the map packs. While this would solve the problem in playing the game online, it doesn't resolve the problem in being able to access the map packs after April 15th. I have spoken to two supervisors on Xbox Support (1-800-4-MY-XBOX), they said they would be monitoring the amount of calls that they receive in regards to this problem. If you're in the same situation as me and can't play Halo 2 online due to this corrupted map problem, CALL THEM and demand to speak to a supervisor once you gt a hold of an agent. Someone, either Microsoft or Bungie, really needs to step up and give their consumers what they paid for, before the service goes offline. I must say that I am deeply disappointed in Microsoft's decision. It just goes to show that I can no longer trust this company when it comes to digital content. If this issue is not resolved I will be canceling my Gold subscription to Xbox Live. Feel free to discuss or post other possible solutions. | |||||

| | Umm...why would they want to put them back up when they are shutting it down anyway? It's a waste of time for Microsoft or Bungie to do that. Solution: Play Custom Games. | |||||

YES! That is awesome they said that! I have been working as a Customer Service Agent (taking phone calls) for many many years. Almost 4 years now until I get out of college, and we work with very large fortune 500 companys(Costco, UHC, Polaris). I have learned quite a few things about how the system works and getting issues like this to the right ppl. The more we all call in an complain the more likely that it will get addressed. When someone calls in and complains about an issue that we can't handle and they want escalated to higher management then WE HAVE TO ESCALATE IT. We then escalate their information to the big shot people that we never have met or seen, but can make important decisions. So for instance, if worked at the customer service for Xbox and someone called in and complained about this, and I couldn't do anything about it then I WOULD HAVE TO forward their information on to higher managers that don't even work in the building. The people who can actually do something about it. The more we call in demanding refunds or complain about this the more likely it will actually be addressed. I for one, will be calling in multiple times and demand my information be escalated through until I hear a valid response or hear back from someone higher up in the company. It may be a long shot but with enough complaints something will be done...so at least its a shot. Like you said, we paid for the maps we should have access to them!!!!! its complete BS! | | I have that old Halo 2 disc so I have every map but Desolation and Tombstone, which are required for playing almost every playlist.
