The host of a game is the person who everyone else is connecting through. This is a way for Bungie/Microsoft to save money by not having to but their own servers.

No matter what, there can only be one host per game. This doesn't mean that only one person can be host, it just means that only one Xbox can. People can split screen and share host. Even if you hold back at the start of a game and see 2 or 3, even 8 names without red X's, it doesn't mean they're sharing host. It just means they spawned altogether, as host doesn't ALWAYS spawn first. Noone can share host if they're not on the same xbox. So next time the game starts and your teammate says "their whole team has host", don't listen to that stupid bulls**t.

Host grenades/bullets/melees do NOT hurt more than a non-host. The host shotgun is NOT more powerful (persay) than someone who's not host. To test this, stand face to face with a person while you're host and shotgun eachother without moving around, or shoot eachother with the same guns.

The reason why host has such an advantage over everyone else is because his actions are happening fractions of a second faster than everyone else's in the game. Therefore when he shoots at someone across the map with his BR, he can hit where he's aiming. Offhost you have to lead your shots, because you're a fraction of a second behind. This is also why sometimes when you're not host you think you shove a shotgun up someone's ass, pull the trigger and it barely hurts them. You're probably just shooting a little to the left or right of them. This is why host shotgun rapes. Try playing a shotgun lan game, it's pretty outrageous.

The host of a game can be determined a number of ways. Before the game starts there is NO surefire way to determine it. Waiting for clear boxes doesn't even guarantee you host. The easiest and only 100% effective way is to see who can grenade jump. The second easiest way is holding the back button as the game starts. Most of the time host spawns first, so he won't have a red X by his name. But that doesn't always work because lots of times there are numerous names without X's, sometimes even everyone in the game.

If you're tired of playing with the host factor, play more lan games. On a lan game there is still a host of the game, but his actions are happening 100% at the same pace as everyone else in the game. There isn't the vast internet for all the information to travel through, so host on a lan game has no advantage over anyone else. Everyone in the game can BR across the map, or use the shotgun effectively. This is why all professional events are played on LAN.

Hopefully this will help decrease the stupidity level about this topic, because I'm so sick of hearing dumb s**t out of dumb people.
THank god. Ignorant kids get annoying over XBL, especially when they swear there right.

The easiest way to determine your host is to just shoot your BR, if the ammo counter jumps up & down at all, it means your not host. This never happens on host. Its pretty odvious.

Host is always going to rape just because everything he does is a fraction of a second quicker. Which means his BR, Grenades, and other things will be better. (NOT Stronger) Only will be better since he throws naded or br's and we wont see it right away or such, since he is faster.
