Here's my two cents:

Intro | 10/10: Simply gnarly. I'm really happy that you took that much time on the masking, Crest. Not only does it make me happy that you put that much effort into such a short amount of time (the length we actually saw the pistol with the logo), but it's something that shouldn't ever be underdone. When I watch a video, I usually remember it for its intro -- aside from unusual/highly skilled clips, of course. Awesome job, awesome quality ... just awesome.

Music | 8/10: The first song was extremely refreshing, and it seemed to make the intro flow into game play perfectly. I like the approach with the Dir En Grey, but I just don't think you can use this kind of music in a montage like this. It doesn't compliment gameplay at all. The Alexisonfire was a great way to end it, and when I say great, I mean great! There's just something about hardcore music that really makes Halo that much more bad ass. Super kudos on the 1st and 3rd song choices.

Editing | 3/10: Any true Halo 1 fanboy can agree that this game doesn't need editing whatsoever! Can anyone truthfully argue me on that? I didn't think so. However, the body's editing was horrible. I'd much rather see unedited clips in their entirety than seeing some half-assed effects thrown in because you feel the video is, well, bland. The intro was amazing, in my opinion, as already stated, but the editing is either a do or don't do thing; you two managed to meet in that halfway zone and it didn't serve any justice to the video. Not to mention with the time that was taken, the editing seemed extremely rushed.

Gameplay | 5/10: This video was delayed far too long only to see the sub-par clips (yeah, I said it, shoot me) that were in this video. Some of the clips would have been far better if there were less shots, etc., but there were only a few decent clips that I even remembered after watching this. I know I couldn't do it on PC, but this is were you guys should excel! This was horrendous! Maybe I set my expectations too high, I don't know, but I really wish there were more attention grabbers in there. One thing I can appreciate is that it seemed like most of you guys were playing the game as if you weren't recording; I hate it when you can blatantly tell people are playing only to record rather than having fun.

Regardless the responses of forumers, I can only hold a higher level of respect for you two for pulling up your pants and getting your sh.t together. Next time (assuming there is a next time) I'd like to see a far stricter criteria for acceptance. Set the bar high and only accept the best; If you don't think a player competes with others that do make the cut, don't add them into the project, simple as that. Up the quality bar, only add the best of the best players and footage. It seems you guys have the music area down pact, but take your time with the editing. People will judge you far more harshly than normal if they have been waiting for a video for so long. With all that said, here's to LeaD 3!

I know my presence probably isn't wanted here, because I never played Halo 1 other than split screen, so I won't comment on any of the gameplay, because frankly, I have no idea if it's good or not.

I hate to give fraction ratings, but I have to give that intro 9.5/10. It was a great idea that just wasn't quite perfect. For example, the blood gulch shot was too long and too out in the open for it to look as cool as all the other shots. There wasn't as much happening. I also found that before the text came in, it was dragging on a bit too long, and something could've been done to just grab a bit more attention and get the audience to hear, "Yeah, we've got something cool coming, so just you wait." But yes, everything besides those two things were awesome.

BTW, I think you took the piss hard route in masking that pistol. The textures in Halo are extremely basic, I'd think you could just walk up to a blue or green wall, shoot at that, and key out the wall.

But now that I think about it, I think you could have just done the thing with the pistol with nothing else happening in the background, and used Time Difference? You could get that to be an alpha matte for a mask. I'm assuming you did that intro in AAE, with the extruded text (shatter?), and sped up the clips in proportion to eachother using time remapping.

But I digress, still I give you more repect than you already had for putting all that time into masking.

I would comment on everything else, but I'm tired.

alright uhm

the intro was nice but you should have probably used more maps cuz those got repetitive after awhile

otherwise the clips were either
a) terrible
or
b) good but the quality was so sh.tty that you couldn't tell the difference.

ninja, mcem and skunk's clips were the best though so nice job to them and f..k you elmo for putting that clip in on me COMPLEX IS GAY
