It's not that. I can't get on the internet at all when I'm plugged in through my router. I've talked to local tech support but they just tell me the same sh.t I already know. And they give me other people to call because 'they can't help me'.
My modem connects to the internet with the Ip of 74.67.16.1. Then I get a local DHCP assigned IP address which works. But when I plug my router in it won't use that internet address. It gives me a local connection on 192.168.1.1 as default gateway and I get a local IP of 192.168.1.100 /24. This let's me communicate on my LAN but no internets.
So even if I did reinstall xbc I couldn't have my xbox and my pc plugged in at once. I'm looking around the net for help, I've exausted all my knowledge and all tech support. I am going to RTFM eventually lol. But I don't think that will help. A linksys wired manual is probably basic stuff. Static IPs aren't working, DNS settings are all right. Idk what's wrong. I do know I'm returning a router though. My old one probably is fine.
