An email I received recently from Brandon which included a message from soldiers overseas needing help from the Halo community, please read...

"To the Halo 2 community,

Hello, my name is Brandon and I am at Camp Buehring, Kuwait in support of operations in Iraq. Here on camp we have recreation centers that revolve around the morale and welfare of the military. MWR (Morale Welfare and Recreation) centers are scattered on all posts in Iraq and Kuwait.

From what I have witnessed, Halo 2 has brought together all branches of the military in a way that no other source of entertainment has at MWR centers. Airmen, soldiers, marines, and sailors, all congregate at Xbox consoles interacting with each other, and forgetting about the hardships that a tour overseas brings.

This interaction is hindered in many ways. MWR centers are having trouble keeping up with the need of controllers, games, and consoles in this environment. The conditions here are hot and extremely dusty. The dust enters consoles, scratch discs, and controllers are used continuously by many users. At this camp alone, broken controllers far outnumber working ones, if all 8 consoles are linked with Halo 2, only 5 or 6 maps will cooperate at once. Playing 16 people on Backwash or Midship over and over again, gets monotonous. Waiting lists are long to play for an allotted 1 hour. But we are lucky at Buehring, many centers in Iraq only have broken equipment or none at all, with no solutions in sight.

In light of these of problems, I am calling for the Halo 2 community to help with this growing issue. For the benefit of military personnel, I am asking for donations of any extra Xbox equipment and games that you may have laying around. Controllers and Halo 2 discs are the number one things needed, followed closely by Xbox consoles. Map Expansion Packs are also needed. One thing that I ask is Microsoft stock controllers only, new or used (working). All donations will come to Buehring and distributed from here as equally as possible to all MWR facilities in theater.

Wow. I think this is pretty serious. I didn't know that soldiers are playing Halo2? That's nice. I actually think I got a halo2 disc. That haven't been scratched or anything. But Im living in Denmark, and I don't know anything about this whole thing. /:
