That's exactly right. If abortions were to become outlawed, which isn't that far off from our current administration's perspective views, there would be a ton of home abortions and "dumpster babies". That is what the religious right doesn't understand is that even if our current laws conflict with their own beliefs, the outcome is far worse than the status quo. Separation of Church and State is the biggest misnomer I've heard from our government yet; and there is a lot of them.

There really is no "separation of church and state" here. The United States is a "Judo-Christian Democracy". Many of the laws are ultimately based on Judo-Christian ideologies (such as the ban on gay marriage and such).

What if the mom doesnt want to even have the kid? Being pregnant would most likely hurt the woman's every day schedule and make it harder to make a living and enjoy life, especially if she's single... plus there's the whole painful childbirth process. Yikes.

I think that abortions should be legal and readily available, AND school should teach SAFE SEX classes, NOT abstinence only classes. Let the kids know that sex is okay, you just have to be very safe about it. They will do it anyway. What is it, like 80% of people enrolled in abstinence classes end upp having premarital sex?

The reason this country is such a terrible, disgusting place is because the people of America do not not how to stand back and recognize a conflict. There has to be "positions" for every single false dichotomy. Abortion is a grey area, an UNRESOLVED ISSUE, but last I checked, pro-abortion people don't go around making laws that force mothers to abort their babies.

People who say there against it becuase the child could grow up to be something wonderful has a weak argument. If the mother is not ready to support it and is irresponsible, she may not have the time to raise a child to be a outstanding child. Also, in most cases the pregnancy is accidental and the father will have little to no role in raising the child. If the mother ABSOLUTELY cannot raise it, him or her will end up in a foster home. Where growing up to be a doctor or something wonderful has a weak chance. Raising a child right will show in the grades. If your not getting good grades, you end up at burger king. Or doing unlawful things.

People who use the "a zygote is a human" argument are retarded. All cells in the body, including the fertilized egg, are genetically identical. So technically, stabbing someone is murder. Pinching someone is murder. Brushing up against someone is murder. Sprinkling salt on someone is murder. In fact, living is murder. So why do we suddenly identify a "human" as something else once it has taken on a discernible form? Do we imprison those who cremate corpses after death for murder? No?
