marriage <- mariage (Middle English) <- mariage (Old French), from "marier" (to marry) from Latin "maritare" (to marry).

Literally, "maritare" means "to give a husband to". It comes from "maritus" which means "married man" or "husband"

So, though the meaning has changed, it originally just meant "to give a husband to" and therefore only women and gay men could "get married" under that definition. Your definition has no basis in etymology and it seems you've really just made it up.

The usage of the word "homophobia" is retarded too. "Homo" means "same" or "man," but as in "mankind". Therefore, "homophobia" is the fear of other people or fear of similarity.
