The unfortunate side effects of homosexuality: men who engage in sodomy before the age of 25 have a 50% chance of living to 65. The median death age is 42, and 39 if you have AIDS. Less than 2% of homosexual males live to the age of 65. :_(
95% of boys sexually abused for pornography, trafficking, and prostitution are abused by homosexual males. If you have some fun with numbers by assuming 2% of the USA's population it ends up that 1 of 20 homosexual males are child molesters compared to 1 of 490 heterosexual male child molesters.
Homosexuals make up about 1-2% of the US population however they account for 60% of syphilis cases, 4% of gonorrhea cases, and 17% of all hospital visits. Also 42% of all new HIV cases are caused by homosexual men.
Statistics can be played with to show anything from my experience but for a high school report you need facts and examples. I'd summarize this by saying it's an unhealthy lifestyle and if the government allowed marriage between two homosexuals they would be approving of this behavior.
Religion can be a paragraph if you want to use that. I'm not sure which religions are against it but I think judeo-christians and Mormons will not allow it. Islam seems to have very conservative ideas about relationships so the top few religions would be a safe bet to use.
a few more I dont feel like listing nobody cares tbh
Good luck with your essay/presentation/school-related report (I assume)." http://www.halo3forum.com/3672783-post86.html

I thought this would be the kind of argument that you guys would want to tear apart |
Most of that doesn't really seem relevant. Even if a monogamous heterosexual relationship has somehow been proven to be the best setting for children, that doesn't even have to do with this issue. The issue is whether or not gays should be able to marry, not whether they should be able to adopt children. That's a whole separate issue which people also argue over all the time.
It also doesn't matter at all how long homosexuals live or whether more of them end up being child molesters. Should that really affect whether they should be able to
marry? Should you also be barred from marriage if you smoke, since it could decrease your life-span?
The idea that by legalising something, the government is condoning it is also ridiculous. That's the same argument made against drug legalisation, and even against medical marijuana. I'm sure people also said the same thing about overturning alcohol Prohibition in 1933. There are many different reasons to legalise things, and things aren't legal or illegal simply based on what one thinks others should do (at least that isn't how it should work). If that were true, then I'm sure the Communist Party would be banned by now and it'd be illegal to be a Muslim.
