Alright, all you internet activists. You that are appalled by the very technology that allows you to live so comfortably; listen up.

I can't begin to explain how ridiculous it is (wait, yes I can - and will) that some people on this forum have a sig like this:

or any other signature that casts a displeasurable light on industry, while making nature look as if it's a victim of the aforementioned 'antagonist.'Quite frankly, I'm getting a bit weary of all the hypocrisy that using signature like those entails. The fact that coal factories and mining (destroying dear planet Earth!!!!) are what allow you to even get on the internet in the first place is enough to make me shake my head.

I'm not saying that I'm perfect, or that doing this isn't good, but it doesn't contribute a single thing to your "cause." If you really cared about this, and didn't just use signatures like this (on a f..king Halo forum) so you could look "sophisticated" (yes, apparently that is what's hip on Halo forums [-THX4THAT, NG]) then get off your ass and go do something other than run up your electric bill (which, ironically, causes pollution due to coal mining/factories).

If anyone disagrees with anything I've said, or wants any clarification on my intent for writing this, etc., then please post below or (if you don't care about your post count) send a PM.

Um, how about I just toss this idea out there that the natural resources you described aren't the only sources of energy that we're capable of using; they're simply the cheapest, which is actually a product of free market; if other energy sources were taken seriously, we'd be doing less damage to the planet (yes, dear planet Earth) while enjoying the comforts of technology.

Is that pseudo-sophisticated quote in your signature an intended irony? Or is it an ode to hypocrisy.

Activism really isn't as productive as you make it sound. But I do occasionally sign petitions on a website where there are tons of petitions involving human rights, politics, education, peace, animal rights, environmental concerns, etc.

But I suppose you can do what you normally do and sit on your assmptions that having something in our signature is the extent of our efforts for whatever cause we support.

Sure, it is true that i could buy a solar panel for my house, or go out and help the earth as you say. However, because these monopoly companies make my life so hard, its much easier and cheaper to buy form them. So once again THEY are at blame not us.
