I'm sure that the people this was intended for, TM22 and ASHtre, can afford to invest some money.
Like I said, this wasn't made to argue with people about the economy or about the environment, but rather at specific individual's (who use that sig) hypocrisy.

But we can't stop spending money on products such as GAS to ruin oil companies and create room for the development and rise in alternative energy source companies. You said yourself a car is necessary in America.
|
Right, so we need to start conserving so we can invest.
For example, drive hybrids. Or if you can't afford that, use public transport like you said.
All while investing in alternative sources.

No I'm in his class, duh. I'm regurgitating what he's teaching me to you; so you're actually calling him ignorant, not me.
|
I'm not saying you're ignorant in this subject; in fact, I never did.
If I told you my drama teacher won the Lifetime Achievement Award for acting, that doesn't make me a great actor.

And you left the thread open for others to make comments to your original post. That's where I came in.

You went off-topic in the first reply of the thread, congrats?
This thread, once again, was made for ASHtre and TM22. As well as other people using those signatures that do nothing to contribute to the cause.
sh.t I feel like broken a record player.
I can do it longer

Where am I lacking here? Sociology? Economics? Socioeconomics? Please enlighten me.

No, you lack in other fields (physics? perhaps math even?).
What I was saying there had nothing to do with this subject, just that you feel like you have to cover up for your ignorance in something else.
Are you a perfectionist? Or do you have OCD?
Perhaps even just having a high IQ makes you feel like you have to always be right (if so, get some counseling)? Or did your parents never tell you, "You're right honey!" so now you must go around trying to be right all the time?
I don't know, just making an inference.

I know. That's why I'm trying to keep you from doing it. I care for your well being.

Everything I've said has been realistic; give me an example of where I'm being unrealistic?
Because I have a hard time criticizing myself, I probably skipped over it somewhere(?).

I didn't say contribute, I say support.

My OP is about contribution, not support.

You posting ironic things and me pointing it out isn't degrading. You're just pulling at straws.

Never heard of that expression before, but alright.
Nothing I've said has been ironic other than an honest mistake in confusing yours and davo's majors.

Maybe not in sub-urbs, where parents buy their children cars, but in lots of urban and city areas there is reliable and affordable public transportation.
|
I agree, but you still see traffic jams in those places, due to everyday people driving.

I'll walk anything that's within a three hour's walk. And yeah, living in Missouri does explain a bit, like you not really knowing much about public transportation in big city and urban areas.

I was born and raised in Nashville, so I know a lot about public transportation and urban areas. I actually lived in an apartment with my mom in downtown Nashville and I had to ride public bus systems with her to get groceries.

How about by reducing the emissions significantly? You don't see the benefit in public transportation? Are you f.cking serious?
|
I NEVER SAID THAT, I just said it only delays the inevitable.
Eventually we will run out of oil supplies regardless of how many people drive.
If only one person drives for the rest of time, it will still eventually run out...

We have. We know the uses of alternative energy sources; they're not made available because we are a capitalist economy and the fossil fuel corporations have a stranglehold on the economy and the government (via politicians).

BARACK OBAMA 2008!
That was a joke. I understand that politicians sell out to personal interest groups and lobbyists. That's why, unless we get a lot of money and demand put forth into finding alternative energy sources, it will stay this way.
