| Ok let the baseball expert explain. Barry Bonds entered Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates. His years as a Pirate were his legitimate years of playing professional baseball. Once he joined the Giants you started seeing his overall numbers increase dramatically. Going from 20 HR's a game to 40 HR's a game in just one season. Kind of suspicious? You bet, after reading Jose Canseco's book called "Juiced" i realized that not only Barry took steroids but Mark Mcguire, Jason Giambi, Jose Canseco, Gary Sheffield have also taken them to. Gary and Jason both claim to get a sort of "Lotion" steroid that when applied to the skin its opens the pores and the steroid gets in and starts to build extra muscles onto you. In "Juiced", Jose claims that every week, Mark, Barry, Jose would all go "shoot up" in the bathroom. Now with the book "Game of Shadows" out that claims they have proof that Barry took the steroids. When MLB takes this case to court Jason and Gary will "Simply cooperate" with what the judge has to say. But Barry is the stubborn one hes trying to get us all to believe that he did not take steroids and that his sudden boost of everything in the offensive category was just from hard work and much practice.
Don't forget that Barry is an old ball player who should consider retiring. Why isn't he? Because he wants to get into the hall of fame as the leading home run hitter. Why are people mad and sending him death mail? Because he is lying about this whole thing if he just came out and told the truth about it like Jason Giambi and Gary Sheffield did he would be in this prediciment of being threated by almost every living soul on the planet. He also does not want to fess up because he doesn't want all of his homeruns taken away from him, even though they should be. 512 to be exact, this is the amount he has had since joining the Giants, 13 years ago. It is very obvious that he has taken steroids, have you ever noticed that has lost his ability of a lot of body parts and is most of the time injured. Well accoring to some research I did, it takes approximately 10 years for the steroids to take a negative effect on your body, such as destroying muscle, and eating up your body tissue. What are steroids? and What types are there?
Steroids -are man-made substances related to male sex hormones.
What types are there?
1) Corticosteroids- Any of the natural or synthetic hormones associated with the adrenal cortex, which influences or controls key processes of the body, as carbohydrate and protein metabolism, electrolyte and water balance, and the functions of the cardiovascular system, the skeletal muscle, the kidneys, and other organs.
--These steroids are found in prescription and non-prescription creams and ointments that control rashes and itching. Two common trade names are Cortaid(R) and Lanacort(R).
2) Estrogens and Progestogens- These are the female sex hormones. They are responsible for the development of secondary sexual characteristics in women and maintain the female reproductive system.
--Estrogens and progestogens are the active ingredients in prescription birth control tablets.
3) Androgens- Testosterone is the androgen that leads to the development of male secondary sexual characteristics and maintains the male reproductive system.
--Testosterone is commonly prescribed in the treatment of female breast cancer, androgen deficiency, and for stimulation of growth, weight gain, and red blood cell production. These are commonly known as "anabolic steroids" because they promote muscle growth. They are also commonly used to help patients recover from a surgery and cancer treatment that resulted in damage to muscle tissue. |
