A ransom in Paul's time literally meant a price paid to free a slave. Born into sin, we are in bondage to it; slaves to our natural selves. God saw our need and sent Christ as our ransom. His death paid the price for our freedom and we no longer have to be in the chains of sin. Now it's time for our answer to the call. Our chains have been removed and our souls have seen freedom from the other side. Our job now is to accept it and step out of the prison cell. The door is open and Jesus is begging us to come out. As the old hymn says, "He has sought me and bought me with His redeeming love." You've seen your chains drop to the floor, but have you stepped out in faith and accepted your freedom? Stand on the other side of the prison door, proud of your heavenly Ransom, and tell others the Good News - we have been paid for.



i send emails to all the people in my address book with a verse and some explanation with it nearly everyday...i just got done with that last one
