| | I hope you all will enjoy hearing stories from my real life; the sad, embarrassing, funny, disorienting, and, sometimes, cute life. Realize that not all of this is true. The events will stay as close to fact as I know it. The dialogs are more than likely going to be off, but they will be as close to the originals as possible. Memories fail us all at times. I would appreciate reviews on how my writing sounds to you or if you learned something. Thank you. Lets begin. The Big Cloudy Thing - PDF Apples And Detentions - PDF Newest Story Posted April 23rd.

| | The Big Cloudy Thing Crack! Oops! I should be more careful when I'm closing the door. I might be small, but that doors not invinci- invincib- INVINCIBLE! I keep forgetting that word. As a little kid you get sidetracked easy, at least that's what my mommy tells her friends when their kids don't listen to them. Hi! I'm Travis! I am six years old and live in a Kentuc- wait... I think I live in Kentucky, but I might live in Tennessee; I can't remember. I go to school just like everyone else and its really fun! I think my teacher Ms. Lawwell is really pretty and she taught me how to read last week. I'm still learning, but its going well. I was watching the television with my mommy and daddy earlier, before we went out, and it said something about something called a tornado. I can't remember much about what they said, but I know my mommy didn't seem happy after they said it. Then, we went out and got some food to eat for dinner and went through the carwash. I love the carwash! I don't know how they do it all but I want to work at one some day. Right now we're getting ready for dinner. It smells like chicken, but it could be ham. YUMMY! Daddy should be getting home from the base soon, too. “Mommy, I'm going to go outside and play; is that alright?” I asked my mommy. She smiled(she's always smiling) and said, “That's fine. Just don't get dirty!” She tapped me on the nose and I ran out the door. It seemed a lot windier outside than it did ten minutes ago. The sky seemed darker, and the trees looked sad. It didn't matter, though, I'm just here to play. The soccer ball my daddy got me seems really good. It hasn't even shown a sign of popping yet. My old one broke really quick and I had to go awhile without one. Whys that truck just sitting there? Better go find out. There are two men in the truck looking way into the fields behind me. They seemed like rather alright people, not like the people my parents warned me about. The truck looked nice, too. “Excuse me, sirs, what are you looking at?” I asked them timidly. Ms. Lawwell had taught me never to judge a book by its cover, especially when its not a book. Their heads snapped down to the ground where I was standing. They hadn't seen me come up to the truck apparently. One of them had a cowboy hat and the other had a baseball cap on. Mr. Cowboy spoke first. “We're looking at the clouds over there,” he said chuckling, pointing off into the distance. Mr. Baseball said next, “You should get back inside and tell your parents that you're alright. That thing is getting close.” I thanked the men and they drove off down the road. My mommy knew where I was so it didn't really matter, did it? Might as well tell her anyways. I start walking back to the house. What is so different about the clouds over there? Is it that big cloudy thingy that's aiming at the ground? That's huge! It must be it! Crack! Uh-oh! That door is so stu- “Travis! Be careful with the door sweetheart!” my mom called from the kitchen. I sighed before saying, “Sorry.” I started hopping towards the kitchen; why do kids always seemed to be jumping or hopping places? Is the ground really that terrifying? The door was open and it was definitely smelling of chicken. “Mom?” She turned around and looked questioningly at me. “Yes, pumpkin?” “There is a big cloudy thing outside.” She looked inquisitively at me. “Honey, sit here for a second,” she instructed me. She walked slowly towards the other end of the house, out of the kitchen door. I took a seat in the chair next to the door and waited for her to return. She came in looking frantically for the phone and almost dropped it when she finally got it in her grasp. She punched in several numbers and I heard the ringer working. “Honey! Get home quick! There's a tornado coming!” She almost threw the phone down in her crazed panic. Zach came in the room from watching TV. He looked at me and mommy innocently. “What's wrong, mommy?” She calmed down a little, but still seemed on the verge of breaking down crying. “Nothing, honey. Why don't you two get your coats and we'll go back out for awhile.” We did as she said and were heading out the door when my dad came in. He ran to my mom giving her a hug and looked kindly at Zach and I. He hurried us out the door and we walked swiftly cross the lawn. The cloudy thing had gotten bigger since last time. Maybe even closer. We jumped into the car and my parents buckled Zach into his little kid seat. My dad turned the key and we started going down the road, away from the cloudy thing. I hope I see that cloudy thing again someday.
