I am not usually a jealous person at all. Before me and my girlfriend started dating, we were best friends for two years along with my roomate. I had no idea that she had liked me during that entire two year span because most of the time she had a boyfriend. We have been together for 6 months and we have been through everything together. Whether it was moving, attending classes together, or totalling our only car, we have been through the thickness and the thin.

Now back to my question. I have never really been the jealous type with any girl. After we hooked up, I started to get feelings of insecurity and doubt which I know is normal. I know that I love her more than anything but when she talks to another guy or even when she just drives to her mom's house, her ex is there sometimes because he is her sisters best friend.

They have not talked in months and they usually avoid each other at all costs. This is mostly because I hate the idea of her talking to him because he is a shady person when it comes down to it. But, since she started going over more often while I'm at work, they had their "closure" talk and now he feels he has every right to talk to her all of the time and invite her w/ his girlfriend to ride horses or some other crap.

My girlfriend always turns him down and pretty much anyone else down because she is a very faithful woman and cares only about me. I know, I know, I'm getting to the question. My question is:

If she is so amazingly faithful and loyal and she would never do anything to hurt me or our relationship, why should I be so bothered by the fact that other guys, including her ex, talk to her?

Well taking into consideration that we don't know your girlfriend personally, we cannot completely answer that question. Being insecure or jealous is perfectly fine, especially when it comes to ex's. Just try to trust her every second that she is away from you, and don't let stupid things create problems. If she does do something and breaks you trust, then whatever, but you can't go around not trusting her. Relationships run strictly on trust, honesty, etc etc.

This is the nature of someone in a society where not all relationships can be trusted. It's very rare to find someone completely genuine, and the fear of losing that is one we're not meant to handle sometimes.

I was in almost the exact situation as you a few months ago. My girlfriend is my best friend, and has been far before our relationship. Her being different then the average girl to me, I always had far more fear of losing her compared to the next average chick.

If she is who you say she is, she'll be there for you. It's all faith in her character, and if she's amazing, as you've mentioned....things will be fine my friend.
