Nice writeup Erik. I try to be as grammatically correct as possible, but when I'm in a rush, I just revert back to slang/short forms. I mean "ITZ THE INTERNETZ", man.

"There" indicates a place, "they're" is a contraction of "they are", and "their" is the possessive form of "they".
There isn't an example for "their", you have "They've". Just thought I'd point this out .

For an example just use "It's their ball."

"Well" is just the proper way to say it.

Don't end sentences in prepositions.

Incorrect: "Who did you give the present to?"

Correct: "To whom did you give the present?"
