If you want to make a thread on disputed things in English, like whether the past participle of "to sneak" should be "sneaked" or "snuck", then be my guest. It's only that it's not the focus of this particular thread.
yes, yes. i just liked it as a general rule because many people use "further" when farther will do. and quite often people say "farther" when only further will do. i get it. i was just trying to help you compile a nice list of things, and i can see how this would be omitted as it isn't seen too often on H3F.

which reminds me: "too, two, and to". i am shocked that people still get that one wrong.

OMG! Same here. I hate that, when people are like, "I want to go to the mall to." Makes me mad.

BTW, this is Plastic Spoons on effectz' account. I got banned about 4 days ago for telling Z that CoN lived in the UK, not the United States. Cool eh? But the ban's over in about an hour anyway.

if i am correct, "who" refers to the subject of a sentence and "whom" refers to the object. so if your question is answered by correctly identifying the subject than "who" is the way to go and if your question is answered by an object than "whom" is the best bet.

so in the sentence: "Jimmy threw the ball to Billy", i would ask "who threw the ball to billy?" and "to whom did jimmy throw the ball?"

This aggravates me the most for some reason.
Same here, it's an english term and it makes absolutely NO SENSE.

You should make a list of all grammatical contractions known to man.

Nice thread.
It's "You and I," not "me and you."

Full stop goes after the quotation marks.
