I'm calling you out for improper/lack of capitalization, and lack of punctuation.

You could use them (1) as a second set of parentheses inside of the first parenthetical statement, or (2) to insert something into a quote for clarity that wasn't actually said, but creates an understanding of what is meant.

e.g. (1): (the article [published in Times] has many flaws)

e.g. (2): "He said that the programme [UNAIDS] was very efficient".

Ah thank you. It's been bothering me for some time. Thanks

I need clarifications on the expression "as well"/"aswell". When to use it, where to use it, when not to use it, what's the propper form of the expression etc. Most part of the time I use it at tne end of a sentence when I want to say the equivalence of "me too". "I lost mine aswell", but I think it's wrong. Thx.

"As well" is always two words, not one. It can be used synonymously with "also" - e.g "I liked that film as well". It can be used like: "as well as" also - e.g "On a forum you need an admin as well as moderators".

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong Erik (most likely am, but oh well).

Nope, you're right. "As well" can also be used as "to the same effect" though. As in, "well, since they've missed the bus then they might as well walk to the store". I guess that's kind of a different expression though: "might as well". I guess it could be something to keep in mind though.

Skerer: as well = aussi
as well as = ainsi que

I don't blame you for your confusion. I have a lot of trouble with similar French expressions (aussitôt que; autant de; tant que; tel que, etc.).

I don't know if this has been discussed, but I've been seeing the word "anyways" used in place of "anyway" way too much lately. I don't think many people even know that "anyways" is incorrect grammar, so I just wanted to address it.

As for a question: can "anyway" be replaced with "anyhow"? I've heard that it can, but never hear it anymore, so I don't know if it's still acceptable.

Anyhow is fine, yeah. "Anyways" isn't so much incorrect as it is colloquial. I wouldn't shy away from saying it, but I wouldn't write it in an essay or anything like that.

I'd consider "anymore" to be incorrect too. I guess it's just a difference between American and British English, but I've always preferred "any more" -- mostly because you wouldn't say "anyless," but instead "any less" and it's also analogous to "any longer," which is two words as well. I guess it's just something I'm picky about, but it has always looked wrong to me when written as one word.
