But God (or "Truth") is revealed in a lot of religious text, not just the Bible. How can you tell which one is right?

But saying "you rejected him" is a loaded statement, as there was nothing to reject. God didn't give the person any reason to believe, with evidence or otherwise
Also, I think your definition of "discipline" is incorrect. I think the most accurate definition is "training that corrects, molds, or perfects the mental faculties or moral character". Hell does not allow this. Therefore it is just torture, not discipline
