| Wow, I mean all bullsh.t aside this has huge implications for me. I first started playing Halo 3 in Feb abouts. Thats the first time I ever really played a Halo. I played it on my wifes TV which isn't technically a high def. In my first couple of weeks of playing (and thats playing ever) I got to 20.
Right about that time I finished my game room and got a Samsung 56 inch HDTV that is DLP rear projection and hooked up my HDMI to it.
I am still a rank 20 in lone wolf to this day. The game looks great but I get raped because I shoot someone 4 times with the BR and they spray me twice and I'm down. I shoot someone up close and in the back with the shot gun 2-3 times and they survive to beat me down with what looks like 1 melee to the face.
The game has really not made alot of sense to me these past few months. I've blamed my router, comcast, Xbox live, etc and this may actually be the culprit. It sucks being better at a game the first two weeks you play than 4 months down the road when you've got 800-900 games under your belt instead of 75 or so.
This might also explain why on some levels I can spank people that are in the 30-40s and then might lose to someone who is highest skill 10 and has 1000 games under their belt. Its one thing to lose to one of those 40-50 that are on a new account, but someone who is a legitimate suckage is another. And this isn't a rare occurence, this happens alot for me. I would have to assume that some levels are alot more intense as far as textures and other graphics are concerned and this might cause an increased delay in my video because it would take far more processing power to run the graphics for those levels. Which would explain how I was a +21 the other day in shotty snipers against 2 friends over live and then had like a -8 on another level in shotty snipers the very next game against the same 2 people.
This is an excellent post and I'm going to be looking at messing with my settings to see if it makes a different.
Random half second delays, no sh.t, has been my exact words when complaining about playing Halo 3. I never dreamed it could be my TV though. |
