Not everyone likes MLG, there are people that would prefer SMG start over the Battle Rifle. So, without further delay, let's get started.

THE BASICS

Step 1(Avoid De-rankers)- Gather together a team if you go into a 2+ matchmaking playlist. You might think if you go in alone, that you avoid getting cheated, there is that superstition among us, but we all know, and we all hate it when we get matched up with a player who doesn't appreciate his level, and feels he should "de-rank" it. If you get players together, preferably friends, you eliminate the chance of getting a de-ranker.

Step 2(Time to Play)- Time is one of the most important things. The main timeframe where matchmaking is a little safer, is from 1am-8am. I know you wouldn't wanna wake up early to play Halo, but in this timeframe, all the little 10 year olds who cheat, have to go to sleep, they wouldn't wanna miss their curfew and make mommy and daddy take the modded xbox away now would they?

Getting Started

Step 3(Get everyone in the Party)
If you guys are going for high levels, you might want to set-up some strategies for certain situations. Some people really appreciate levels...I know this because I do.

Step 4(Avoid Getting Locked In)
Most people don't know this, but the main reason you get locked in, is because the maps load too quick. It's self-explanatory. To help avoid this, the party leader should go put the party on "Custom Game" and set the map to either Waterworks or Headlong. What this does, is that these are very large maps, and they make your harddrive load them. From this, your harddrive keeps this map loaded until there has to be a new one loaded ( The MM map ).
Because the xbox has to Unload one map then load another, this will give you more time to avoid getting locked. Usually when you get locked in, you get locked in to a party of 4. When you see this, you have to "Exit matchmaking" which will be further explained in an upcoming step.

Going Into Matchmaking

Step 5(Get Boxes)
What this means, is to get the "empty boxes" where you see only your party. Bridgers or people who are looking to get host will not/cannot join this. It increases the probability of someone in your party getting host, which leads to legit games.

Step 6(Always Have Someone have "Leave Matchmaking" Highlighted)
If your party joins another persons's boxes and you want to avoid getting cheated, you have to have someone in the matchmaking lobby, when you enter matchmaking, to have "Leave Matchmaking" selected, so that if it goes wrong, you can quickly leave MM, and try again for boxes.

Step 7(Have Fun and Play Nice)
I made this thread, to disencourage cheating, and to promote legit play, please don't use this thread in any way, shape or form, to cheat.

Thanks and Have Fun!

I will keep updating the thread to keep you informed. Leave some feedback, and I might add it if its right.

Random Facts:
- Most cheating nowadays is from level 30-40. From what I have noticed, there is more legit play at 40+ because all the people who want to cheat for their rank at these levels, circle boost.
- There is almost no point in listening for old maps anymore, because modders have gotten to old maps as well, but it never hurts to try
- Least cheating happens in the FFA MM types, because not many people would go to the trouble to get host, as much as they would in, lets say TS. There are a select few though...
well i go by myself in TS because i really dont have the patience to wait for games in host boxes.... i still get cheated a lot making me quit MM
